Milton dominated for long spells but came up second best in this league match.
Walker had a great chance in the 10th minute after good play from Graham, but overhit the ball and the keeper collected it. Statter then had a chance but his shot was blocked.
Minutes later, the same player looked to have put the ball into the net, but the keeper clawed the ball out and the referee said the ball hadn’t gone over the line.
Sneddon was next to try his luck, while Milton keeper McEwan had a quiet first-half.
In the second half, Sneddon brought out another save from Dalziel’s keeper before the visitors took the lead.
Milton went straight up the park and Sneddon was brought down in the box, with Whiteford scoring from the penalty spot to equalise.
In the 75th minute Dalziel regained their lead after some bad defending from the home side. Five minutes before the end Whiteford rattled the crossbar with a terrific shot which denied Milton a share of the points.
On Saturday, Milton are at home to St Patrick’s FP from Dumbarton in the fifth round of the West of Scotland Cup, KO 1.30.
Can everyone try and hand in their ticket money for next Saturday’s speakers night?
