Young Binos win at Livi

STIRLING Albion’s under-13 team could have been excused for approaching their game against Livingston on Sunday with some trepidation.

However, the team produced their best performance yet. Only one goal separated the two teams – a penalty scored by Stirling's Greg Pascazio in the second period – but coaches Blair Cremin and Tom Ogilvie were delighted by the courage shown by the team.

The under-15s played a friendly against Dundee United, who proved a bit too strong but after a slow start Stirling held their own. Sunday sees them travel to Dumfries for a game against Queen of the South.

The under-17s travelled to Ayr United and won 2-1 with two goals from Andy Hunter securing the points. The team holds a top six position in the Irn Bru Youth Division. Next up is Airdrie United on Sunday at 12.15pm at Forthbank.

The under-19s have had a difficult time in recent weeks, losing 4-1 to Dunfermline and 2-1 to Airdrie United. Their next game is against Arbroath on Sunday at Forthbank, kick-off 2.15pm.

The fundraising committee thanked everyone who supported the sportsmen's dinner that raised money for the youth development programme. Speakers Tommy Walker and Willie Young were a big hit and compere Tony Higgins ensured a great night was enjoyed by more than 160 guests.
