Stirling Albion under-13s go down 4-0 against Clyde

STIRLING Albion’s U13s took on a strong Clyde team at Forthbank on Sunday and lost 4-0, despite another good performance in most areas.

They play away against Raith Rovers on Sunday, kicking off at noon on Kirkcaldy High School’s plastic pitch.

The U15 side travelled to Raith Rovers and went down 2-0. There was not too much between the teams, with Raith perhaps a more physical outfit at the moment.

The squad travel to play at Ayr United on Sunday.

Last weekend both the U17s and U19s were without a fixture as they await the start of the SFL Youth League Cup. It looks as though this will now start on March 22 – weeks after the original proposed start date.

Derby County have invited the U13 and U15 sides to go down for games at the end of the season. The club is considering the invitation.

About 170 players, parents, family and club friends attended the youth development programme’s race night at Millhall Restaurant last Friday. The committee is hopeful that the event will rake in almost £2000.

Head of youth Stewart Taylor said: “We would like to thank all those who attended and the others who supported the event. It was a very good night that I think everyone enjoyed and the finance, of course, will go to meeting the costs of running our programme.

“Our young players also received a number of compliments for their behaviour at Friday's event.

“This is important so well done to them.”
