Fans say thanks to Mr Stirling Albion

MORE than 1200 fans turned out to say a big thank you to former Stirling Albion owner Peter McKenzie.

A young Rangers XI beat the Binos 1-0 but the winner on the night was Mr Stirling Albion himself, who donated all proceeds from the game to local charities and improving facilities for disabled fans.

Former managers Allan Moore, Ray Stewart, John Philliben, Kevin Drinkell and Alex Smith were among the guests. Judy Murray and her dad Roy Erskine, a former Albion player, were also present.

Before the game Peter and his guests assembled in the newly-named McKenzie Suite at Doubletree Dunblane Stadium, where he was awarded the freedom of the club by Stirling Albion executive board member Stuart Brown.

Provost Fergus Wood presented him with a miniature silver replica of the Wallace Sword.

Pre-match entertainment was provided by the Stirling City All Stars and at half-time Fallin Violet and Cowie United took part in a five-a-side shoot out.
