DOLLAR Academy’s 1st XV rugby squad will have its kit sponsored by RBS Private Banking.
Dollar have been one of the most successful school rugby teams in recent years, winning the Bell Lawrie Schools Cup in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and losing in the 2000 and 2007 finals.
Scotland internationals John Barclay, Graeme Morrison and Rory Lawson are all former pupils.
The school’s director of sport John Foster said: “Thanks to the generosity of RBS Private Banking, our 1st XV team will be seen as a highly professional schools team and this will undoubtedly also have a positive effect on the continued development of all players at all levels throughout Dollar Academy.”
Roy Smith, senior private banking manager for RBS in Stirling, said: “The pupils and teachers at Dollar Academy have set and maintained very high standards of sporting excellence and this is reflected in the success they have achieved in recent years.
“We are committed to supporting the rugby community at all levels of the game, right through to the international arena, and we would like to wish Dollar Academy every success for this season.”
