Touch rugby season starts this month

THE summer season for Stirling Touch Rugby taps off later this month.

Training gets underway at Bridgehaugh in the city on Monday, March 30 and new players – male or female – keen on giving the sport a try are welcome to go along on the night.

Touch is a mixed sport played in teams of six, made up of three men and three women. Unlike rugby, there is no tackling, kicking or scrums and the sport focuses more on ball-handling and teamwork.

The Stirling Touch Rugby club currently have players of all ages, abilities and fitness levels, from total beginners to Scotland internationalists. Whatever the level, it’s billed as a great way to keep fit in a friendly and sociable environment.

From March 30, training takes place regularly at Bridgehaugh, on Monday and Wednesday nights between 5.45pm and 7pm.
