Under 18s demolish Ellon

A TEN try demolition of Ellon ensured maximum league points on the road as Stirling County Under 18’s travelled north last Saturday.

Despite the County squad not being at full strength due to national representation and a number of injuries, they were still able to show the gulf in class with Ellon propping up the league table.

Playing into a stiff breeze in the first half, County had the bonus point secured by the break running in four tries. A key feature of the Stirling dominance was the off-loading and ball handling that the north side had no answer to.

With the wind at their backs in the second period, County maintained momentum and run in another six tries . Top scorers were wingers, the Kinnear twins with Craig and Ross both bagging a brace. Billy McCulloch also got in on the act in grabbing two tries building on his score against Dunfermline last week. The other scores were shared amongst the backs.

The County squad continues to develop and with places up for grabs in the Youth Cup final later in April, competition is fierce. County continue preparations with the management attempting to arrange a friendly match this weekend, probably an away fixture against Greenock.
