Strathendrick host mini rugby challenge

MORE than 1,000 people will descend on a Stirlingshire rugby club this weekend for an event which children love and which boosts three significant charities.

Strathendrick Rugby Club is embarking on its third mini-rugby charity festival this Sunday (26 April) at their ground at Fintry

The event sees more than 400 children in the P3-P7 age-group from numerous clubs in west central Scotland. Around 800 adults will be there to run the event.

The other aim of the festival is to raise cash for three local charities: Strathcarron Hospice; Robin House, the children’s hospice based in Balloch; and The Prince and Princess of Wales’ Hospice in Glasgow.

Last year almost £8,250 was raised and organisers hope for more bumper donations this weekend.

The event starts at 1pm.
