Rugby: Scotland legend at Dollar Academy

DOLLAR Academy’s rugby squads had a rare treat last week when Scottish rugby legend Gregor Townsend visited the school to deliver a coaching session.

Townsend, now attack coach with Scotland, worked with 22 pupils in the masterclass, which lasted two hours and was recorded by a film crew as a coaching module to be used on www.therugbysite.com.

PE teacher Rob Moffat said: “We’re really delighted to have Gregor visit us for a coaching session with the boys and very grateful for his time.

“Our pupils are all very excited about the class and thrilled that the footage will be used on such a high-profile rugby training website.”

Dollar’s U16 team reached the final of the Brewin Dolphin Scottish Schools Cup at Murrayfield last month.
