County face English giants

Stirling County face a tough task in trying to halt English Championship side Bedford Blues at Bridgehaugh tomorrow in their latest British and Irish Cup sectional match.

The visitors to Stirling top Pool 2 with four wins out of four and only a complete disaster on their part will stop them from progressing into the knockout stages.

However, County are sitting pretty in second place after wins over Welsh duo Neath and Bedwas and, first and foremost, they will be desperate for a good showing against a side who hammered them 87-10 earlier in the season.

The game at Bridgehaugh kicks off at 2pm.

Meanwhile, McLaren and Strathendrick rugby clubs will play their first matches of 2013 tomorrow.

The West League Division Two rivals have tough starts to the year.

McLaren, who currently sit in ninth place, play host to unbeaten Annan, while fourth-placed Strathendrick travel to Carrick, who sit one place behind them in the table.
